Mid-County Study
The Mid-County Study area includes the City of Middletown, Towns of Wallkill, Wawayanda, Goshen, and Crawford, and the Village of Goshen. An advisory/working group formed in 2006, referred to as the Mid-County Study Group, with the assistance of the County, OCWA and consultants, have been researching ways to address issues concerning water supply and transportation improvements while improving intermunicipal and regional cooperation.

The County of Orange (via Planning Department) received a grant from the NYS Dept of State Shared Municipal Services Program to complete a Mid County Water Supply Feasibility Study. Goals of this project included creating a working group, assessing the feasibility of using groundwater resources at the County-owned properties at Indigot and Dwaarkill, evaluate possible intermunicipal cooperation, evaluate other identified projects as needed, and research financing and institutional arrangements for such possible projects.
